Designed to work with virtually all soil conditions and the vast majority of plastic pipes, our Plastic Pipe Splitter tool is pulled along at the front of the bullhead on our Service Line Puller Kit. Though it could be used with other companies' service line pullers, you should bear in mind that it was specifically designed to work with our system. After you've excavated both ends of the service line, you simply remove the ends of the line, feed the cable through the old line, string the Plastic Pipe Splitter tool onto the cable, add the Bullhead, and watch it split and push the old plastic service line out of the way, pulling the new line in place behind it, if that's your task at hand.
The Plastic Pipe Splitter is a metal tool that has been designed to split the old plastic piping in several locations around the tool, which then flares out to push the old pipe out of the way of the new pipe, which is drawn into place behind the Bullhead. Used on 3/4" and 1" pipe, the sharp fins cut the old pipe to make way for the new pipe being drawn in behind it.
