Do you have a client who needs higher levels of security on their service lines to ensure an uninterrupted flow of water and to maintain safety? Maybe you have trouble areas and just shutting off the meter isn't keeping the water from flowing for more than a short amount of time. Tried other security devices that were removed by magnets, leading to not only the loss of the lockout device but also issues caused for your customers by the service interruption? We understand. Those tampering with your service boxes do not. Your job is protecting a crucial service line from being shut off by someone who should not have access. That's why we've developed our High Security Service Box Locking Device to provide you with the security you need to get the job done. Here are the details:
Service lines can have some security issues. It doesn't take a lot of work to operate the service valve located inside the service box using the a standard service box wrench and related equipment. Even without professional-grade equipment, other tools can easily be improvised using commonly available tools to force a service box and valve open. How do you protect your investment and prevent accidents that can be caused when someone tampers with your service boxes and valves?
At New Concept Tools, we keep an ear to the ground to determine our customer's pain points. A service box locking device that is more tamper resistant is a pain point we hear about regularly. To overcome this issue, we've developed a locking device that prevents opening with a standard service box wrench or improvised tools and cannot be removed with a magnet. But how does it work? We're glad you asked.
Our innovative Locking Device is placed on the service box itself, preventing the opening of the box when using a standard service box wrench. The locking device must be removed using the extractor tool. This tool is inserted into the High Security Service Box Locking Device until a spring pin snaps into the hole on the device, releasing it from the service box and allowing access. Once it's removed, the service box and valve can be operated using a standard service box wrench.
However, we've taken things a step further than our competitors in developing the tool. We've heard a number of complaints over the years that people trying to access a box protected by a locking device simply use a magnet to remove devices made of iron or steel. Because it's constructed from non-magnetic, non-corrosive bronze, ours is impossible to remove with a magnet, a common tampering technique used by people trying to access the box without permission of the utility.
When your customers demand or require a certain level of security or you have service lines that must have additional security measures in place, our High Security Service Box Locking Device fits the bill. If you need more information on this ingenious invention that our engineers have patiently developed for our waterworks clients or are interested in ordering a few, please feel free to contact us today. At New Concept Tools, our only business is creating the quality innovative tools that our utility clients demand to get the job done quickly, efficiently and effectively.
